About Me

About Me

What can I do for you?

I offer a quiet space to help you to explore your current feelings while I support you through your journey, so that you can navigate yourself to a better place. You will be heard, and together we can discover what may have caused your feelings and how you can make yourself feel better. You can talk about your inner most feelings knowing it is without judgement and in confidence.
I have been a primary school teacher for the last 30 years. Whilst doing this, I completed my Level 3 Counselling at Newcastle College and then completed a Level 4, then 5 of a Prince’s Trust Accredited course (Chrysalis Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice). This required me to complete 50 hours of counselling with friends of friends initially and then 100 hours of counselling in a Charity Organisation. I worked with FACT (Fighting All Cancers Together) and then UNISUS. I am still working for UNISUS part time, but also working on my own business.

Why Me?

I have a wealth of life experience, also as a teacher I will (if you would like) teach you aspects of psychology which will help you to run yourself better. (I have discovered that I find it difficult not to do this- its second nature)
I am also doing a Level 6 research year predominantly about the links between trauma and resilience.
Currently I can offer face to face sessions on a Sunday in a beautician’s room in Low Fell. (Or online if preferred) I can also offer sessions after 6.30pm on Monday evening.
